Windy Days

The last three days we were stuck on our boat because of the crazy strong winds. Even if we did try to venture out, we would've been soaked from the dinghy ride within minutes.

Instead, we hunkered down and played a lot of games, baked, read, napped (me), did Lego and snap circuits, watched shows on the tablet and basically slowed down.

We are in a good anchorage and have not dragged - hurrah!

Today we ventured out to town to see the new mural that was painted on the side of the firehall.

Led by talented artists and assisted by community members, the mural represents all things Green Turtle Cay and her beauty.

Before that we had the pleasure of watching some turtles get tagged and then released.

SV Geronimo is a 70-foot monohull that takes highschool students on trips as they explore and learn about the world around them.

They just arrived to GTC yesterday and are anchored near us. Today they invited us to participate in their turtle class on Coco beach. Homeschool for the win!

In the afternoon we explored nearby Fiddler's Cay with SV Wild Child and another kid boat, SV Little Tern (whom we met in Lake Worth and had just arrived in GTC a couple of days ago).

Sometimes when you're cruising, the 'real world' seems so far away. Today was certainly one of those days.

As much as I was enjoying the sunset and watching the kids play, my thoughts kept going back to recent headlines news, especially the Iran airplane disaster which killed 57 Canadians.

There are no words to describe what the families are probably going through right now.

How can the world hold so much beauty and yet be filled with such tragedy as well?

Berry muffins

Cheesy buns for the win.

Mmmmm warm fresh bread from the oven!

Haircuts for 3 out of 4 Anjulia Sue crew members during our 3-day boatcation.

Kneading cookie dough is SO FUNNY!

Many hands make light work. SV Little Tern helping us make cookies.

We have been announcing the cruisers net every morning on the
VHF for the last few days. All of us take turns to say a part.
Best part is we can do it in our pyjamas!

Reading the weather and tide report on the net.

Turtle #1 captured and tagged by students from SV Geronimo.

Mural on the side of the firehouse at New Plymouth, GTC. Stunning!

Starfish find!!!

You can clearly see where the deep water meets shallow water.

So pleased to have found a starfish.

Boat kids at Fiddler's Cay. Do they know how special this experience is?

Treasures of the sea.

Busy girls. They found a pot to use as well to carry water.

Tai on his SUP. Shortly after this was taken, he had to be rescued by dinghy because he couldn't get back to shore on his own (strong current). Lesson learned.

SV Anjulia Sue sitting at anchor at sunset.

Stuck on a boat, just practice drawing.
