Impatient

It's October and we really want to be further south than where we are currently (Newport, Rhode Island).

However our engine is still a mystery to the several mechanics who have worked on it. Basically it won't rev up to its full potential. We get about 1800 rpm at full throttle. We should be getting a lot more.

After a few days where the 'experts' were working on it, we actually thought it was all fixed and got up and left at 6:30am yesterday morning to make some headway towards NYC. But after an hour we turned around because the problem persisted.

We have ordered a new fuel injection pump which should arrive by tomorrow. We'll see if that will fix the issue

So frustrating! Plus we're paying every day to be on mooring ball...

This morning I woke up and decided we had to do something that was fun and unrelated to the engine. Time to take matters into our own hands.

We are in a beautiful part of New England and we should see more of it!

So we packed a lunch, our beach things, the kids' boogie boards which they bought with their pocket money and our rain jackets because there were thunderstorms forecasted in the afternoon.

A little sea and surf cured our engine blues for the time being.

Here's hoping we get everything fixed up tomorrow so we can head out.

Bent boogie board already!

Beach therapy!!

Watching the waves smash up on the Cliff Walk.

After an epic swim and walk, a well-deserved ice cream was in order.

We hired a diver to check our prop to make sure nothing was fouled.
I dove on our boat a few days ago (at Block Island) to get our
boat speed spinner at the bow spinning again. Also dove down to
the prop and cutter blade but couldn't see anything fouling it.
The pro diver confirmed it.
