Goodbye Gong Gong - for now

This morning we said goodbye to Kam Wong . It has been great having him here and for him to see what we're up to with the boat, etc.

The kids are especially going to miss him.

Aila thought he was coming along with us for the entire time on the boat so was sad to see him go.

Tai promised to email at least twice a week. He was sad too, partly because he knows that his days of getting a sip of Coke or Pepsi are over!

We are already looking forward to his next visit in mid July when he finishes his trip to France and the UK. Who knows where we'll be?! He'll just book his ticket last minute depending on where we are.

After schoolwork and lunch, the boys went into Halifax to pick up our sails and some other equipment, tools and groceries.
Us girls stayed close to home. After a couple of busy days, Aila just wanted to do some crafts and chilling.

For dinner I made rice. In a pot. And it didn't burn!!

Oh how I miss my rice cooker.

But I managed to still make a one pot dinner. After the rice was cooked, I turned off the stove, threw in some raw broccoli and (already cooked) chicken. I let the heat and steam from the rice pot cook it all together. Done!

Thank you Corkery Family for this blowup globe!

Aila making Tai's birthday present out of a plastic 6-ring holder for cans.
This kept her occupied for over an hour while we listened to a podcast.

Tai loved helping at the store, measuring and coiling ropes.
