Marina Quiz

Day 17. June 14, 2019.

Today was a late morning. But oh what a game last night!! I bet all of Canada was tired today! I felt fortunate we didn't have to set an alarm clock for work or school.

We started our day by listening to a podcast about basketball and Michael Jordan - very fitting!

Gong Gong had to visit some clients in nearby towns today with our car so we spent the rest of our day doing schoolwork and some sorting and organizing.

After some book learning, journal writing, projects and lunch, the kids were needing to run off some steam so I sent them out with the mission of writing up a quiz for us to do later on.

Basically they were to come up with some questions about what they see and observe in the marina, in the yard or on the docks.

By now we can trust that they are pretty good to go off on their own and find their way back.

They took this project very seriously. It was fantastic to see them confidently go off and independently create their own quiz.

This gave Matt and I some time to do some boat work and cook dinner.

After dinner and dishes, we did the kids' quizzes. It was great fun and it had us running around looking for the answers and clues.

They tallied up our scores afterwards and ceremoniously handed out prizes to us.

I asked Tai tonight whether he thought making that quiz for us was a fun way to learn. He stopped, looked at me and asked, "Wait, you mean that was learning?"

It may be a small win, but it's a win.

On another note, we have booked our launch date: June 25th.

A lot needs to happen before then (and we can push it back if we need to), but now we have a date to work with.

I can hardly wait.

Rolling all her clothes Marie Kondo style to fit in her drawer.
