And then we were in Yarmouth

We left West Bay Wharf in a cloudy morning and due to absolutely no winds, we motored pretty much the 6+ hours to Yarmouth.

Lighthouses. A bit of fog. Chicken noodle soup for lunch, it was cold. And then, suddenly on our starboard side, we spotted a pair of dolphins!! Amazing!

We anchored right in front of Killam Brothers marina in downtown Yarmouth. We lowered our dinghy down and went ashore for a wander.

We had a shower at the marina, bliss! It was free which was great too. Normally if you aren't not using the Marina's mooring balls or dock, you have to pay for their showers.

Then went in search of wifi so we could download the next episode of Amazing Race Canada.

Over the last several weeks as we have moved from place to place, I have seen our kids getting more and more excited each time we get to go ashore and explore a new town. That feeling of wonder, of discovery, of finding something new... It's so addictive and I'm happy to see they are enjoying that feeling as well.

Sometimes we discover a new park, big boulders to climb, humongous fishing traps, a quirky shop, an ice cream stand, a cute dog.

Later when they write their journal, their observations and what they found interesting comes out.

Today while exploring Yarmouth, we found a cute local information office that was like a museum too. We learned about the Acadian culture and the Black Loyalists.

Then we found a chip stand with some pretty decent poutine.

Tomorrow's mission: wash the mountain of clothes that has been piling up.

Dreary morning. Leaving West Bay Wharf in Cape Sable Island.

Tai getting some steering practice.
Aila and I slumped over and most definitely zzzzzz

Watching Wild Kratts on passage.

Miniature lighthouse right at Yarmouth waterfront.

Sitting in a Dory, local fishing boat.

Killam Brothers marina in Yarmouth from our boat.
We anchored closeby and could just row shore easily.
Spectacular sky tonight. ANJULIA SUE is the boat anchored out behind in the channel. That island just behind our boat is called Doctors Island and is FULL of seagulls all the time. We spotted lots of seals around too.

Getting our last fill of poutine before heading to the USA.

Lobster Rolls with leftover lobster from yesterday. Delicious!
